Home made crackers

These are so simple to make and great fun to do with kids (even if they’re grown up!!) we made 4 flavours; paprika, rosemary, garlic and poppy seed.

Here’s the basic recipe;

125g plain flour

60-70ml water

herbs and spices to taste.

Preheat the oven and a baking tray to 220ºC

Put the flour into a large bowl and slowly add the water while mixing with a fork. Keep mixing until it comes together into a dough.

Flour your work surface and rolling pin, knead the dough for just a couple of minutes.

Roll to about 3mm thickness, then prick all over with a fork.

Spray the rolled out dough very lightly with Fry Light and sprinkle with salt and pepper and any other seasoning and then cut into shapes.

Remove the baking tray from the oven and lightly spray with Fry Light, quickly put your dough shapes onto the tray and bake (in the top of the oven) for 4 minutes, remove from over and flip them over and bake for another 4 minutes.

Keep checking as some ovens are hotter than others and these can burn quickly.

Put on a wire to cool completely and to dry out. They will crisp up the longer you leave them.

These are lovely with soup, with cheese and pate or with dips. Try them with the Spinach and Basil Hummus.

Dip them into a hearty, home made soup.
