Cranberry and Lemon Gin

I love making my own sloe gin and living in the country there is a large amount of sloes to be picked, but I found some frozen cranberries in my freezer so I decided to experiment, hence the creation of cranberry and lemon gin, and by the time its ready it will be just in time for the holidays.

600g of frozen cranberries, or you could use blueberries

1 large lemon, sliced

350g granulated sugar

1ltr of gin, you will only need a cheaper version, supermarket own brand

Method

Place the thawed cranberries into a large Kilner jar, put in the lemon slices, sugar and gin, stir all the ingredients together and seal the lid.

Every week or so carefully stir all the ingredients together and do this until the sugar has dissolved.

In about 5 months, strain the gin through some muslin at least 3 times to get rid of any sediment and then pour into a clean gin bottle and seal up ready for the holiday season.
