A little departure from our normal post today because I have been so inspired.

Today Mr. Roo and I visited Wyrd Gin Distillery, in the New Forest, for a tour.

Wow! What an interesting place with lovely people, delicious gin and…… lots of samples!!!!

The gin is a delight. Made with New Forest spring water and hand picked botanicals which are blended to make a smooth spicy fresh flavoured gin.

The tour “gives you the opportunity to find out more about their unique recipes first-hand with the chance to taste the full range of gins, the perfect way to enjoy your time in the beautiful New Forest.” And it certainly lives up to that.

If you can’t visit in person for a guided tour then certainly visit their website to find out more about this beautifully produced small batch gin.

I’m not sure that I’ll be putting any of my first bottle into any recipes yet (far too lovely not to just enjoy in my Wyrd Gin glass) but maybe by the second (or third??) bottle I might be tempted.

So if you live or are visiting The New Forest, Wyrd Gin is well worth a visit, but don’t forget to book in advance!
